“The Gift” is a new single by Tally Koren, representing the most intense and powerful production by the internationally renowned artist to date. Its forceful words demonstrate the experience of separation from a loved one and how one can ease pain into something else that is extremely empowering, even in the hardest moments. The song itself is a story of Tally Koren’s journey toward mending her broken heart and journey towards self empowerment, as she wrote the song after she lost her husband to cancer. Going through the natural process of grief, Tally couldn’t touch the song, however, through the lockdown, when so many people lost their loved ones, she decided to share it with the world and let people find any kind of positivity to ease their pain.
The music video was filmed and edited by Rupert Truman (Pink Floyd, Muse) and directed by Tally Koren. It is meant to channel a clear vision of how to portray the “light at the end of the tunnel.”
